How Audio Over WiFi Benefits Your Business Office or Corporate HQ

By | Business, Fitness Centers, Hearing Assistance, Tour Guides, Wireless Audio | No Comments

After working from home for two years, it can be difficult to get employees back into the office. The convenience and comfort of working from home can oftentimes outweigh the collaboration and communication that comes with being together in one space. And while some companies have vowed to go full-time or remote first, such as Google, Shopify, Quora, US Xpress, Pratt & Whitney, many others are eager to have their staff back in the office environment on a daily basis.

To encourage staff to willingly and enthusiastically come back, these in-person-ready companies are looking for ways to make the experience more enjoyable, more efficient and safer for everyone. One unique way they can do this is by utilizing a wireless audio streaming system

Below are five ways that corporate HQs and business offices can use audio over WiFi to improve employee satisfaction and productivity:

1. Employee Training Solution

Training is essential to ensuring your employees are prepared to complete their work in the most effective, efficient, and responsible ways. But if they’re unable to hear or understand the training material, they’ll never be able to perform their job responsibilities to the fullest potential. AudioFetch can be used as an assistive listening solution or live translation system to help your staff learn and comprehend better, leading to better job performance.

Scott M from the US Playing Card Company has found AudioFetch to be particularly useful for their employee training: “We used the tour pack [AudioFetch Express for tour application] and it made a world of difference on the training session. Thank you!!”

2. Fitness TV Audio System

Many corporate headquarters and larger businesses offer a gym or fitness center that their employees can access at any time. Our audio over WiFi system is a perfect solution for allowing staff to stream gym TV audio to their phones. They don’t have to be tethered to any one piece of cardio equipment; rather, they can move around freely throughout the fitness space and use several machines, all while enjoying (and getting distracted by!) the news, a game, a TV show, or anything else playing in the facility.

3. Wireless Factory Tour Guide System

During tours of factory floors, where conditions can be dangerous and safety is of the utmost importance, it’s imperative that all participants can hear the tour guide clearly. But churning machinery, beeping vehicles, whirring fans, and other loud sounds can easily drown out the audio and potentially put participants at risk and workers at risk.

Our portable tour guide system is an ideal solution, and a great replacement for outdated, unhygienic, and expensive listening devices you may already be using. Tour groups use their own personal smartphones to listen with the AudioFetch app, eliminating the need to purchase, keep track of, maintain and sanitize numerous devices. The app is simple and intuitive for users of any age or expertise, plus it’s free to download with no monthly fees for your business.

4. Controlled Music System

Did you know that music can increase your employees’ productivity?! It’s true. Especially for those staff whose tasks are clearly defined and repeated often, such as factory or warehouse workers. Music improves mood, increases concentration, reduces stress, and increases work speed.

AudioFetch can be used to provide multiple music channels to your team to reap these benefits and more. Select channels can be programmed, offering options for varying musical tastes and work styles, while limiting employees’ ability to access the internet and thus get distracted. All employees have to do is download the free AudioFetch app, select their channel of choice, and start listening.

5. Emergency Notification Solution

Quick action and widespread communication is required during an office fire or other emergency situation. Audio Over WiFi technology can be used to stream emergency instructions to employees on multiple floors and throughout thousands of square footage, allowing your staff to mobilize quickly and efficiently.

Helping your employees, clients and visitors hear better without distractions or distracting others can increase productivity and enhance the office space, making it a more desirable environment to return to. If you’re ready to get started, contact us or schedule an appointment to learn more and request a free demo.

How to Provide Hearing Assistance in Courtrooms & Legislative Proceedings

By | Government | No Comments

For decades, courtrooms and government meeting rooms have used hearing loop technology to allow participants to hear better during hearings and legislative procedures. While hearing loops are an effective way to provide this hearing accessibility, they present a few problems:

  1. Hearing loops are expensive
  2. Listeners must use a hearing aid
  3. The installation process can be complex
  4. Metal in walls and floors can cause interference

Today, courts and legislative bodies that are looking for a more affordable, efficient, flexible and modern solution are turning to AudioFetch audio over WiFi streaming. Following are five benefits that AudioFetch provides for hearing assistance in court and legislative settings:

1. Secure One-Way Communications

Security is of the utmost importance in legal and legislative proceedings. AudioFetch technology uses the local wireless network to stream audio. When that network is password protected, you can limit who can listen to only those approved individuals.

2. No Hearing Aid Required

People don’t always wear hearing aids when they should. Maybe they forgot it, maybe it’s too uncomfortable, maybe it creates too much feedback, or maybe it simply makes them feel old. Whatever the reasons, not using a hearing aid when you need one can cause you to miss important information, and in a legal setting, it’s imperative that every word can be heard.

Even when someone doesn’t need a hearing aid, they could still benefit from hearing better. As quiet as legal proceedings can be, there can also be loud, distracting background noise that makes the main speaker difficult to hear.

With wireless audio streaming, all the listener needs is a smartphone or mobile device, which nearly everyone has already and never leaves home without, and headphones.

3. Lower Installation Cost

The fees associated with installing a hearing loop are just for the system. Depending on the size and construction of the courtroom, you may need to pull up carpeting, tiles or baseboards and replace any damaged items. Additionally, metal in walls and floors can create interference, limiting the capabilities of the loop system. Installation requires a specialist, can be messy and takes some time.

Installing wireless audio streaming is so simple, it’s nearly plug-and-play. Your hearing assistance solution can be up and running the day you receive it, and you won’t have to touch an inch of flooring or walls.

4. No Monthly Fees

Other hearing assistance solutions require ongoing monthly fees and/or charge extra when you hit a usage limit or each additional listener. With AudioFetch, you pay for the equipment and it’s yours to use as much you need for as long as you need. And we never charge for support either.

5. Minimal Equipment

A single piece of equipment is all that’s required for local audio streaming. If you’d like to expand coverage or connect with other audio sources, you can add a transmitter and receiver, but these are entirely optional.

Save time, money and hassle, and make it easier for participants to hear during legislative proceedings. Contact us today to request a quote or schedule an appointment at your convenience.

AudioFetch Provides Better Hearing in 23 Countries

By | AudioFetch News, Hearing Assistance | No Comments

We started AudioFetch with one goal in mind–to help people hear better.

Having worked in the fitness industry for several years through our sister companies Broadcastvision Entertainment and Waio, Inc., we saw an opportunity to build a platform that would empower anyone with a smartphone to hear what they were watching in real-time, no matter the location.

And now, nearly two decades later, those locations can be found in 23 countries around the world!
In addition to the hundreds of businesses in the United States, we ship to and support businesses in Australia, Norway, Europe and the United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil, Italy, Singapore, France and many more! Check out the map below to see where AudioFetch is being used.

We’ve been honored to provide hearing assistance and audio entertainment options to all different types of businesses and organizations. Fitness centers, houses of worship, museums, farms, drive-in movie theaters, amusement parks, warehouses, hospitals, airports, universities and K-12 schools, sports bars, railroad tours, casinos and resorts, apartment complexes, country clubs, retirement communities, local news stations, film festivals–we could write three more paragraphs listing the various types of businesses and organizations that are leveraging AudioFetch! That’s because our wireless audio streaming technology is so flexible, efficient and affordable, and because every venue wants their guests to have a better experience.

If you’d like to know if AudioFetch supports your type of business or location, well, the answer is almost always YES! Contact us today or schedule an appointment to discuss your application.

Please note: While many of our customers are public venues, we also work with private businesses to provide services for their internal staff. If you’d like to test our AudioFetch technology in the wild, please be sure to check that the business is a public venue before visiting.

6 Types of Social Distancing Tours

By | Tour Guides, Travel | No Comments

After being locked indoors for several months, staring at screens for entertainment, people are itching to get out of the house and experience something in real life. Yet, travelers are still concerned about their health and safety. While some people are venturing out in wider areas, they remain cautious of the places they’re visiting and the people they’re interacting with.

To help assuage travelers’ safety concerns and provide the necessary precautions, travel and tourism brands are leveraging our AudioFetch wireless audio streaming technology.

AudioFetch helps create extra space for social distancing by allowing attendees to hear the guide via their smartphone, rather than crowding around in a group. And since they’re using their own smartphone, not a device provided to them by the tour, it limits the number of surfaces that individuals come into contact with (and limits the items the tour company has to sanitize after each tour!).

Since lockdown restrictions began lifting earlier this summer, we’ve worked with numerous travel and tourism brands to help them create social distance tours. Some of the unique uses we’ve found are:

Factory Tours

Whether they’re for educational, entertainment or inspection purposes, factory tours can be made safer and more enjoyable with a wireless tour guide system. Not only does the system eliminate the need to provide devices that must be sanitized, it allows all attendees to remain six feet apart and still hear the tour guide.

City Tours

Even traveling down the street can seem like a major adventure these days. And that’s why local city tours have been a hot trend this summer. Tours Accolde is using AudioFetch to provide guided walking tours in Quebec City and Lévis, Canada, showing off the local history, architecture, culture and lifestyle.

Brewery Tours

This is a big one in our home state of Colorado! Breweries big and small run tours of their facilities for a sneak peek into the machinery and processes required for a perfect pint. Just like factories, breweries can be loud places that make it difficult for tour guides to hear and be heard. Our technology allows anyone with a smartphone to hear, AND to maintain a safe social distance.

Garden Tours

Outdoor destinations have been deemed a safer alternative to indoor destinations, and many travel spots are beefing up their outdoor garden tours to provide this option. Whether it’s botanic gardens that are limiting tours to only their outdoor attractions, or indoor tours that are making the typically overlooked garden portion the main event.

Architecture Tours

New River Architecture offers waterway cruises using electric-powered boats to guide visitors through the architecture and landscape of Fort Lauderdale, the “Venice of America.” Using AudioFetch and the open air venue, New River Architecture will provide a safer alternative to indoor tours.

College Campus Tours

Prospective students and freshmen are typically treated to a campus-wide tour of all the new facilities they can visit. These tours can still take place by using wireless tour guide technology that permits people to keep a safe distance, while still hearing the every word the tour guide says.

If you have questions about how AudioFetch allows you to run tours more responsibly with our tour guide system app, people do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to helping you get your tour business back up and running, and doing so in the safest way possible.

How to Run Socially-Distant Tours with AudioFetch

By | Tour Guides, Travel | No Comments

Every industry has taken a major hit over the past two months, and that’s especially true for travel and tourism. With shelter in place orders across the globe, tours were brought to a standstill with few, if any, options for driving revenue.

Now, as quarantine orders are being lifted, tour companies are eager to resume their unique tour experiences and begin generating revenue again. Yet, there are precautions they must now take to ensure the safety of both the tour group members and their staff.

Requiring everyone to wear masks is a prerequisite. Limiting the number of people in any single tour group is wise. Modifying tour sites and attractions to avoid crowded areas should be considered. But how can people hear the tour guide when everyone must stand at least six feet away?

Our AudioFetch technology is the perfect solution! Using our FetchExpress portable audio streaming device, tour guides can broadcast their voice to anyone within 300 feet in any direction. This allows for ample distance between tour group attendees, and provides your business with a responsible and marketable advantage.

How Does AudioFetch Make Tours Safer

Our FetchExpress solution is lightweight, portable and has built-in Wi-Fi, turning the tour guide into a walking hotspot for listeners. Installing and using FetchExpress is incredibly simple, and requires just a few steps:

  1. Install FetchExpress – Turn on the FetchExpress and plug in the microphone. Seriously, it’s that easy!
  2. Download AudioFetch App – Tour members download the free AudioFetch App to their smartphone or tablet, connect to the FetchExpress Wi-Fi network, and launch the app.
  3. Ensure a Safe Distance – Make sure the tour guide and members are standing at least six feet apart and maintain this distance if it’s a walking tour or there’s any movement required during the tour.
  4. Start the Tour – The tour guide speaks into the microphone and members listen via the app.

For more stationary tours, or so that entire families can hear together, a bluetooth speaker can be paired with the phone or tablet to extend the audio.

We also include a free wireless tour guide accessories kit with each purchase, freeing up the tour guide’s hands to point out important sights and ensuring they don’t run out of juice on longer tours. The accessories kit includes a hip pack, a headset microphone, a USB battery, and a battery charger cable.

As the travel and tour industry begins to reopen, it’s important to take the necessary precautions to protect everyone involved. It’s also important that potential customers know about the measures you’re taking, and feel confident that their health and safety will not be jeopardized during their experience with your tour business.

If you have questions about how AudioFetch allows you to run tours more responsibly with our tour guide system app and WiFi audio stream, do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to helping you get your tour business back up and running, and doing so in the safest way possible.

AudioFetch Blog Header - Coworking Spaces

How Coworking Spaces Can Take Advantage of Local Audio Over WiFi Streaming

By | Business, Coworking Spaces, Education, General, Hearing Assistance | No Comments

We’re constantly coming up with new and clever ways that businesses can benefit from our local audio over WiFi streaming solutions. Silent discos can use it to provide clandestine music to dancers. Real estate agents can use it to broadcast house details curbside to curious homebuyers driving by. Microbreweries can use it to provide information during tours of their brewing facilities (we are in Colorado, after all!). The products and their application are so versatile, the possibilities are nearly endless!

Coworking spaces are one niche industry that has really sparked some ideas recently. The coworking industry has grown significantly in recent years. Freelancers, large corporations, and everyone in between are enjoying the flexibility, affordability, and other benefits of working in a shared office space.

This focus on collaboration, innovation, and versatility really aligns with our ethos at AudioFetch, and we’re thrilled to be working with coworking spaces like EVO3 Workspace in Summit County, Colorado to provide additional benefits for their resident businesses and guests.

Following are a few useful, unique and fun ways that coworking spaces can take advantage of local audio over WiFi streaming:

Provide Accessibility at Events

Coworking spots frequently host events, such as expert speaker series, coding workshops, maker fairs, and other things that help to promote and educate their members and the local community. These events can draw diverse crowds, with diverse audio and visual needs.

AudioFetch provides hearing assistance capabilities without requiring the installation of an inductive hearing loop, or any separate hearing assistance devices. Listeners simply download the free AudioFetch app on their smartphone, and tune in to the live presentation.

Provide Translation Services at Event

Within the diverse crowds that events draw, there may be some folks that would benefit from listening in a different language. This is especially important for educational events or training workshops. UNESCO research indicates that people learn best in their native tongues.

AudioFetch solutions can be used to broadcast a live translation stream for anyone that needs it. You simply need someone available to translate the speaker or instructor’s message into the right language for your audience. Listeners then just launch the AudioFetch app on their smartphone, and select the channel with the translation feed.

Allow Passive Listening of Events in Offices

Coworking members are often growing startups and zealous freelancers, eager to absorb as much knowledge and experience as possible, and limited only by hours in a day and days in a week. The members want to attend every event and workshop hosted by the coworking space, but they need to be at their desks working against deadlines and objectives.

AudioFetch lets them have the best of both worlds! Members can tune in to the presentation or class that’s happening in the common area or conference room, while still heads-down at their computer working away in their office. It’s every founder’s dream–the ability to be in two places at once! (Now, if only that was possible for catching up on sleep and exercise!)

Curate Music Streaming Channels

Piping in a single music station or playlist throughout the entire coworking space is not ideal. It’s too loud. It’s too quiet. It doesn’t set the right tone. I hate that artist. With such a diverse membership base, there’s no doubt there will be opinions on the music selection.

Rather than broadcasting a single music station for everyone to hear, AudioFetch can be used to provide options and eliminate distractions. You can create a custom channel for different music genres to appeal to various musical tastes. You could even allow members to play “DJ” for a week at a time, perhaps hosting a contest or raffle to bestow this honor each week.

Curate Podcast Streaming Channels

In addition to designating select channels for music, you could also use a few channels to stream relevant podcasts throughout the day. Depending on what type of people and businesses make up your membership, you might consider Entrepreneurs on Fire, StartUp Podcast , The Gary Vee Audio Experience, The Growth Show, or So Money

Create a “Founders Podcast” Channel

Some of the biggest draws of coworking spaces are collaboration and networking opportunities. Let’s imagine that one of the members sells dog treats from spent grain from a local brewery down the street. They need some help updating their website and driving sales. There’s a freelance web developer two offices down, and a digital marketing firm two rows over. These folks could all be working together to make some doggos and the environment a little bit happier and healthier, they just need to know the others exist!

A unique value-add for your members could be a “Founder’s Podcast” show. This podcast would allow each member to provide an overview of their business and service/product offering, any updates or announcements, and requests for help or current challenges they’re solving for. The recordings from each of the members would then be combined and played continuously for all members to hear, providing a unique way for members to promote their business and for all members to learn about and connect with others.

Create a Unique Tour Experience

Providing a tour of the facility for prospective members is a key step in the sales process. Members need to see and experience the basic features–offices, desk spaces, conference rooms, kitchen, amenities, training centers, office supply, etc. But these things are table stakes–every coworking space has them.

To set your space apart from others, showcase how you embrace and support innovation during the initial visit and tour. Utilizing AudioFetch’s advanced wireless tour guide technology, potential members can explore the coworking space while listening to details via the AudioFetch app. This also creates efficiencies for your reception or office management staff. Rather than being pulled away from their duties every time someone needs a tour, they can simply alert visitors to the app and resume their work.

Coworking spaces are just one of many, many applications for the AudioFetch local audio streaming solutions. If you have a unique application you’d like to chat about or have ideas for utilizing AudioFetch in creative ways, we’d love to discuss with you! Give us a buzz at 1-877-564-8845 or drop a line today!

How to Measure AudioFetch App Usage

By | General, AudioFetch News | No Comments

Do you know how often your customers and guests are using AudioFetch? What channels are most popular? Which ads are they engaging with? Understanding how your customers use AudioFetch allows you to make improvements and better understand your return on investment.

Every AudioFetch customer is provided access to cloud-based metrics showing usage of your AudioFetch audio over WiFi streaming system. The usage metrics are available at no additional charge within The Doghouse, our easy-to-use management portal.

Let’s take a look at each of the reports provided, and how you can use them for your business:

Sessions Per Day

- AudioFetch Audio Over WiFi

The Sessions Per Day report shows total sessions and unique sessions per day during the selected time frame (note: time frame can be specified in the upper right corner of any reporting view).

Look for trends in the data that indicate if any specific days of week are more popular than others. Compare these trends to other occurrences: Did you have a big event at your location? Was there a game or some other TV event happening that day? Do these numbers coincide with sales or other activity at your business?

Cumulative Listening

On the Usage Metrics Dashboard, you can view a pie chart of Cumulative Listening Time. This chart shows every listening session that occurred during the selected time period. By clicking on any of the individual segments, you can dig into each individual listening session to understand more about how long the session lasted, what channels the person listened to, what device they used, location, whether any ads were displayed, and other details.

The Top 5 Channels report shows the most popular channels by total minutes your users spent listening during the selected time frame.

Use this report to help you choose what to show on the various TVs, and help optimize channel placement within your location. For example, if the majority of people listen to Channel 23, but this is only playing on one TV tucked in a corner, you should consider moving that station to a more prominent TV.

Individual Session Details

Every single listening session is listed with numerous details, such as duration, location, device type, App Version, etc. Clicking on the “Details” link for any single entry provides more info on that session, including Channels listened to and a map of where they listened.

These session details can be extremely useful for troubleshooting issues by device type, carrier, App version or location. If a user is having problems connecting to the wireless audio streaming, it could be that they’re using an old version of the AudioFetch app. Identifying this quickly and simply having them to upgrade the App can save you time, hassle and create a better customer experience.

Depending on your type of business, you may also consider other options for promoting it on premises:

  • Fliers – Hand out small fliers or notecards to each guest with info and instructions on using AudioFetch.
  • Reception/Front Desk – Do guests need to check in before entering your venue? Alert them to your audio streaming offer right away. This will allow staff to answer any questions immediately, ensuring they download AudioFetch on their first visit.
  • POP Signage – For QSRs or other venues where guests pay before sitting down, posts signage at the register. Again, this alerts them immediately and allows staff to address questions in an efficient manner.
  • Signage on Equipmentfitness studios can add signage to each treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike, etc.
  • Posters – Hang posters around your venue and in bathroom stalls (you can’t find a more captive audience!).
  • Menus – Sports bars and restaurants can add a call out directly on menus.
  • Marquee/Outdoor Sandwich Boards – Draw customers into your venue with outdoor signage on a marquee or sandwich board. Have some fun with the message to really grab their attention!
  • Programs – For churches, lecture halls, theaters and other venues that provide programs for events, add a simple note about the availability of local audio streaming for assistive listening.

If you would additional signage or custom posters to use at your location, contact us and we can help to get you the signage you need.

Email is one of the most effective methods for engaging existing customers online. Include an announcement about your AudioFetch offering immediately after installation, and make note of it frequently to remind customers to come in and use it.

We know you’re busy, so go ahead and use the following text in your communications, and adjust as needed to match the tone of your brand:

We’re excited to tell you about our new partnership with AudioFetch to provide audio streaming to our customers. AudioFetch allows us to stream the audio from any TV directly to your smartphone or tablet via the AudioFetch app. This means you get to take control of what you’re listening to without feeling chained to one spot. It’s the audio you want, wherever you are, without any distractions. Be sure to try it out the next time you stop by!

GIVE YOUR STAFF A HEADS UP

Your employees are the face of your business, and the first place customers go when they have questions. Make sure every member of your staff knows what the AudioFetch audio streaming system is and how to reference download instructions. Encourage them to download the app on their own devices, or have a device available for them to play with it, ensuring they have a basic comfort level that AudioFetch works well and is easy to use.

MAKE A LIVE ANNOUNCEMENT

Most live events like presentations or lectures start off with some housekeeping announcements. “Silence your phones,” “Hold questions until the end,” “Use this hashtag during the event,” and “Download AudioFetch to help you hear better during the presentation.” A brief announcement with an accompanying slide, where appropriate, can increase usage and improve your guests’ experiences.

Your guest won’t use your AudioFetch system if they don’t know about it. Make them aware by promoting in and around your venue, and through your online channels.

Do you have a creative way that you’ve promoted AudioFetch at your business? We’d love to hear about it! Share your story on Facebook.
