How Audio Over WiFi Benefits Your Business Office or Corporate HQ

By | Business, Fitness Centers, Hearing Assistance, Tour Guides, Wireless Audio | No Comments

After working from home for two years, it can be difficult to get employees back into the office. The convenience and comfort of working from home can oftentimes outweigh the collaboration and communication that comes with being together in one space. And while some companies have vowed to go full-time or remote first, such as Google, Shopify, Quora, US Xpress, Pratt & Whitney, many others are eager to have their staff back in the office environment on a daily basis.

To encourage staff to willingly and enthusiastically come back, these in-person-ready companies are looking for ways to make the experience more enjoyable, more efficient and safer for everyone. One unique way they can do this is by utilizing a wireless audio streaming system

Below are five ways that corporate HQs and business offices can use audio over WiFi to improve employee satisfaction and productivity:

1. Employee Training Solution

Training is essential to ensuring your employees are prepared to complete their work in the most effective, efficient, and responsible ways. But if they’re unable to hear or understand the training material, they’ll never be able to perform their job responsibilities to the fullest potential. AudioFetch can be used as an assistive listening solution or live translation system to help your staff learn and comprehend better, leading to better job performance.

Scott M from the US Playing Card Company has found AudioFetch to be particularly useful for their employee training: “We used the tour pack [AudioFetch Express for tour application] and it made a world of difference on the training session. Thank you!!”

2. Fitness TV Audio System

Many corporate headquarters and larger businesses offer a gym or fitness center that their employees can access at any time. Our audio over WiFi system is a perfect solution for allowing staff to stream gym TV audio to their phones. They don’t have to be tethered to any one piece of cardio equipment; rather, they can move around freely throughout the fitness space and use several machines, all while enjoying (and getting distracted by!) the news, a game, a TV show, or anything else playing in the facility.

3. Wireless Factory Tour Guide System

During tours of factory floors, where conditions can be dangerous and safety is of the utmost importance, it’s imperative that all participants can hear the tour guide clearly. But churning machinery, beeping vehicles, whirring fans, and other loud sounds can easily drown out the audio and potentially put participants at risk and workers at risk.

Our portable tour guide system is an ideal solution, and a great replacement for outdated, unhygienic, and expensive listening devices you may already be using. Tour groups use their own personal smartphones to listen with the AudioFetch app, eliminating the need to purchase, keep track of, maintain and sanitize numerous devices. The app is simple and intuitive for users of any age or expertise, plus it’s free to download with no monthly fees for your business.

4. Controlled Music System

Did you know that music can increase your employees’ productivity?! It’s true. Especially for those staff whose tasks are clearly defined and repeated often, such as factory or warehouse workers. Music improves mood, increases concentration, reduces stress, and increases work speed.

AudioFetch can be used to provide multiple music channels to your team to reap these benefits and more. Select channels can be programmed, offering options for varying musical tastes and work styles, while limiting employees’ ability to access the internet and thus get distracted. All employees have to do is download the free AudioFetch app, select their channel of choice, and start listening.

5. Emergency Notification Solution

Quick action and widespread communication is required during an office fire or other emergency situation. Audio Over WiFi technology can be used to stream emergency instructions to employees on multiple floors and throughout thousands of square footage, allowing your staff to mobilize quickly and efficiently.

Helping your employees, clients and visitors hear better without distractions or distracting others can increase productivity and enhance the office space, making it a more desirable environment to return to. If you’re ready to get started, contact us or schedule an appointment to learn more and request a free demo.

3 Fun Ways to Enjoy the Summer!

By | Tour Guides, Churches, Education, General, Hearing Assistance, Music, streaming, Theater | No Comments

Summer is finally here, with its long days that stretch into evening, allowing more time to enjoy life outside, more fun with friends, more time for playing sports. Being outside has amazing benefits as well. Just being outside can lower blood pressure, fight depression and improve memory.  Natural sunlight helps mitigate pain and boost the immune system, plus being outdoors enhances creativity, improves vision, and there’s all that natural aromatherapy.  And it’s all natural. Here are 3 fun ways to be outside and spend time with loved ones (and maybe even learn something):

Outdoor Theater

Attending an outdoor theater production with a picnic is not only healthy for the body because you’re outdoors, but healthy for the mind and spirit too. “Theater is one of the higher cultural activities that mark us as imaginative, creative and truly human,” says Dr. Glenn D Wilson. If the performance includes comedy, all the better. The Mayo Clinic explains that laughter is great for relieving stress and stimulating organs. In the short term, giggling causes a boost in endorphins, the brain’s feel-good chemicals.

Of course, if you don’t arrive early enough to get a seat close to the stage, it may be difficult to hear the actors. Children playing, conversations nearby, traffic, or people walking around can distract from hearing the play. Look for outdoor theaters that offer audio over WiFi streaming so you can be sure to hear every word of the production or even listen to audio translated, if the venue offers live translation.

Walking Tours

Many cities, and even small towns, offer informative and fun walking tours that could help you learn more about the place you are visiting or even your hometown.  Or why not create your own walking tour and invite your friends and family?  Or have your children do it and get an entirely different perspective? They can visit the local history museum and ask the research librarian to help them, or better yet, visit a nursing home and get first-hand stories about locations around town. Intergenerational activity is a great way for parents to help their kids connect with older generations. The children will be so proud to inform everyone about the town and community.

Of course, if you create your own local walking tour, you might get a crowd and you’ll want to make sure that they can all hear you. A wireless tour guide system is a simple solution to transmit your tour audio directly to your participants’ devices.

Movies Under the Stars

Drive-ins used to be common in cities and even small towns, but now there are only a handful left anywhere. However, with a wireless audio streaming solution that can be easily connected to a projector, it’s easy to make your own outdoor theater. The only other thing you’ll need is a blank white wall (or simply tack up a white sheet).  And, of course, a movie.

You can make it a private event, or if you screen your movie on the side of a building, your outdoor movie screening can become a fun community-building event. The best part is that with an audio streaming solution that transmits audio directly to users’ mobile devices, you’ll never have to worry about disturbing your neighbors!

No matter what you do this summer, we hope you will be sure to gain the benefits of being outdoors. Let us know if we can help make your summer even better by contacting us.

3 Reasons to add AudioFetch to your College Campus

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

A college campus is a vibrant place of learning, ingenuity, and inventiveness.  The atmosphere is ripe with growth and learning, and the technology available on campus for various activities is a great opportunity to inspire students and faculty alike. An audio solution that transmits audio over wifi could be a great addition to any higher education audio-visual department and opens up some creative opportunities to enhance the experience of everyone on campus.

STUDENTS

Students work hard to become informed and expand their knowledge and skills.  They learn from books, professors, visiting lecturers, and each other. They attend multiple classes and spend long hours studying.  To unwind they sometimes look to the Student Union to share a meal, a televised sports event or an episode of South Park or Jeopardy.

One television, turned up loud enough for so many people to hear, can seem blaring to those who are more interested in talking to their friends.  For students who are studying while they eat, the noise of the television that rises and falls with the excitement of sports announcers’ voices or the music of commercials can be very distracting.  Or perhaps there are several televisions showing different programs and one can’t be heard over another, creating a cacophony of noise. And what if students with hearing disabilities just want to hear what’s on TV more clearly?

Any streaming device that transmits audio via wifi to a user’s smartphone, would be a perfect solution to manage noise levels in shared student spaces like the Student Union or dorms. Think of the peace in having an audio-streaming device that would allow students to listen to any TV through their cell phones.  Earbuds would prevent distracting anyone sitting nearby, and students could still watch together by tuning in to the same channel.

PROFESSORS

Seeking to vary the classes or impart direct knowledge, a professor might take a class of students to a museum, a play, a special lecture or a local engineering facility.  Communicating with students might be distracting to others at the museum, play, or lecture, and might be impossible in a plant, however, a personal PA system for teachers that streams audio directly to student smartphones would allow the professor to communicate with all the students over any other noise and without disturbing anyone nearby. Not only that, through direct streaming, students are more likely to hear every word of instruction through their earbuds and are less likely to be distracted or miss something vital because of ambient noise.

GUEST LECTURERS & PRESENTERS

Very often during the semester, a college will host a special visitor who might lecture on politics, environmental issues, the entertainment industry, or host a Q & A.  These special presentations are open to the public and many people from the community attend. Students attending the college or members of the community whose first language is not English are at a slight disadvantage because they might miss the nuances of the speaker.  Wouldn’t a translator be a big help? A translator could be a volunteer from the community who transmits the dialogue over streaming audio, allowing everyone to hear the lecture in their own language. Not only that, but attendees with hearing impairment could also benefit from an audio streaming device that amplifies the sound of the lecture directly into their ear buds.

CAMPUS TOURS

Walking prospective students throughout the campus, highlighting key educational and social facilities, is an excellent way to give them a feel for what life will be like and all the amenities that will be available to them. Oftentimes, campus tour guides have to shout to allow prospective students and their families to hear, or they rely on outdated and unhygienic shared devices to transmit audio. Our AudioFetch Express is better solution. Express is a wireless tour guide system, which allows attendees to listen from their own smartphones, and lets tour guides go hands-free. A useful and modern solution for any college, and one that allows for social distancing in today’s climate.

An AudioFetch education sound system that streams over wifi could solve so many on campus challenges and be a great addition to the student and community experience.  If you would like to know more about our audio streaming solutions, contact us today!

Build Community with Theater Translation

By | Theater | No Comments

We live in a multi-cultural global society with large populations in every country speaking Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Arabic, French, Korean, English and hundreds of other languages. Yet, while we may seem so different from our foreign neighbors, we are intrinsically alike as we share similar emotions, concerns, intellect, and desires. We just express them differently.

One of the best ways to bring community together is through art – painting, sculpting, music, dance, and especially theater. Theater performances use various types of cultural language – verbal language, body language, costumes, and music. Some of the meaning an actor expresses in another language can be understood by gestures, facial expressions and movement. However, without understanding verbal language there is only partial understanding and much of a play, performance, or speech can be lost. For a complete artistic experience, a translator is needed.

A translator in a theater may sound like a terrible idea. Who hasn’t been annoyed by someone talking behind them in a theater?  The solution is to use a system that streams audio over wifi, sending a one-way audio broadcast to a user’s smart device via an app. A translator can speak only to those audience members who need to hear the event in another language through ear-buds. It’s a wonderful way to bring the audience in tune.

An assistive listening device for theaters that streams audio to your audience members’ smart devices means no need for additional hearing assistive devices, upgrades or care. AudioFetch solutions can connect with the wifi service already at the theater – without any wiring or bulky equipment. All the audience members have to do is download the AudioFetch app to their smartphones and listen. It’s an economical and simple audio solution that could grow your attendance while creating a stronger community.

The Benefits of a Personal PA System

By | Business, Churches, Dining, Education, Fashion, Fitness Centers, Hearing Assistance, Music, Restaurants, Sports Bars, streaming, Tour Guides, Waiting Rooms | No Comments

Whether you’re a factory manager, a tour guide, a minister or a sports bar manager, you understand the importance of keeping your people happy. Information is today’s currency, and there is so much of it, coming so quickly, that being able to convey and understand critical information is of top importance.

Communication is essential, whether between your business and employees, or your clientele. This can mean different things depending on your business; saving time, eliminating distractions or simply providing an impeccable experience. Whatever your goals are, an audio streaming solution could help you get there faster.

Have you ever presented at a business conference in a cavernous lecture hall or noisy convention center? How much time is spent trying to get the microphone or AV system working and repeating Q&A responses so that people in every corner of the room can hear? What if you could take advantage of smart phone technology, and everyone could stream audio from your presentation in real-time? You wouldn’t be competing with conversation in the back of the room, noise from the hall, or general din of a busy convention center. Your presentation just became more productive and efficient.

Maybe you’re expanding your business and need to train employees at your new location, but last-minute installation and finishing are still going on. If you used a personal PA system with built in wifi, your new team could follow you around the store, warehouse, or office without worrying about the distraction or disruption of the other work going on. Your employees will be trained in less time, saving you money.

Construction sites and factory floors are notoriously loud. Bring in new people or guide investors around the site and have a productive conversation despite all that’s going on. You will know they aren’t missing any of the important points.

Maybe you work with the public – education, fitness instruction, giving tours at a local museum or botanical garden, auctioneering, hosting book club at the library, guiding field trips through a nature preserve or historical site. Streaming your instruction with a wireless audio guide system will give your students and clients a better, deeper experience without interrupting or distracting others, and maybe even save your voice.

Does your church serve the hearing impaired? Let them listen in real-time with personal PA technology. Do you have a cry room or nursery separate from the sanctuary? Mothers and caretakers can keep up on the sermon without waking the babies. You can tend your flock in a way that meets their needs.

Additionally, you’re not limited to streaming your own voice. Maybe your business or agency would benefit from streaming music, or pertinent content. Anxious patients in the waiting room? They can stream soothing music. Bored citizens waiting for their number at the DMV? Offer audio from TVs mounted throughout the room, or a review of traffic laws while they wait.

Perhaps you want to provide some of the benefits of music to your employees, without allowing a free-for-all when it comes to internet streaming. This technology can offer a variety of options, pre-selected by you or your management team.

If this is something that would help your business increase productivity and efficiency, or create happier, more satisfied clients, Fetch Express is one option to consider. Contact us at AudioFetch for more information.

How Audio Streaming Works

By | streaming | No Comments

We’ve all been there. You’re out at your favorite restaurant and whether it’s the big game or some breaking news, you want to tune in and hear the experience. This can be difficult with all the noise in a busy establishment. Streaming local audio over wifi directly solves this issue by allowing your patrons to easily connect their personal devices to the source. Patrons have their choice of volume, channel, and can easily catch all the action at their choosing.

How Audio Streaming Works

Streaming is basically taking an audio or video source and broadcasting it out. The content must be sampled then encoded. In the case of streaming local audio over WiFi, the stream is encoded into WiFi packets.

How AudioFetch Streaming Works

The AudioFetch platform is a designed specifically for very fast sampling and encoding of audio to be distributed over WiFi networks.  To this end, there is a dedicated audio processor for each audio source.  The For business owners, this well thought out design results in a a simple “plug-and-play” process!

Plug: First, you connect the audio source to the AudioFetch system you’re using. It could be a television, satellite, cable or IPTV input if using the traditional multiple-channel AudioFetch system, or a microphone if using the portable, single-channel FetchExpress. Note that AudioFetch provides 3 different audio connection issues to ensure your sources connect today and in the future.  Next, you connect the AudioFetch system to the wireless internet router via the Ethernet jack.

5 Inspiring Ways to Teach with a Portable PA System

By | Education | No Comments

As all teachers know, managing a classroom is difficult. It takes skill and effort to wrangle and direct a large group of students; sometimes, it might just seem entirely overwhelming. However, more and more teachers are embracing technology to keep students on task and engaged. Some teachers have found success and inspiration from using a portable PA system. Here are 5 creative ways you can use a portable PA system with your students.

1. Direct a field trip

Keeping track of students in a classroom is hard enough. Outside of the classroom, you also have to worry about the possibility of students running off, getting lost, or missing the bus. A portable PA system can let you communicate to your students during a field trip. Your students will be able to hear your directions and know when to be where, even if they aren’t at the same location as you. You can also add helpful information about the place being visited. Tips, stories and even possible pop-quiz questions.

2. Foreign language listening

Learning a foreign language requires listening and comprehension. Most foreign language programs involve audio in some form: to learn pronunciation, to practice comprehension, or as a part of a test. Computer speakers are often quiet and low-quality, and make it hard for students to hear and understand spoken words. A portable PA system can let your students have high-quality, easy-to-hear audio that comes directly from you. You can cater the audio to meet the needs of that day’s lesson plan, and you can teach multiple langauge levels in the same room.

3. Lecturing with a sore throat

When you’re speaking day in, day out, nonstop, for hours a day, your vocal chords are bound to get fatigued. A portable PA system can amplify your voice even when your throat isn’t working at its best. All you have to do is speak at a comfortable voice into the system, and your students will hear you through their headphones as if you were lecturing normally.

4. Playing music during work time

Did you know that there’s research showing music can help with completing tasks? Mozart and Bach are the most commonly cited examples, but, there are lots of classical and ambient musicians that can be soothing and help students concentrate. If you’re assigning work in class, why not use a portable PA system to play music? This way you can control the use of devices and music in the classroom while rewarding your students with the option work with music without disturbing the class.

5. Lessons outside the classroom

Most students would agree: if it’s nice out, they want to have class outside. Who wants to sit at a desk inside when the sun is shinning? However, a gust of wind or a passing car can easily drown out your voice. A portable PA system, can help you stay audible, and let your students enjoy the sun and the outdoors while they learn.

AudioFetch offers a portable PA system called the FetchExpress that could be the perfect compliment to your lessons this fall. We value education and are proudly offering all AudioFetch products to teachers at 20% August 1 through September 30. We hope to be your partner in education this school year! How AudioFetch Stacks Up Blog Post

How AudioFetch Stacks Up Against Other Wireless Audio Streaming Systems

By | AudioFetch News, General | No Comments

We often get asked by new customers how AudioFetch compares to the other wireless audio streaming systems out there. Our Competitive Comparison chart addresses the key features and benefits in a succinct and easy-to-understand manner. However, many businesses need more details to truly perceive the differentiating factors.

Below are specifics on how our products and services compare to others you may be researching:

Channel Options

When it comes to the number of channels and how they’re managed, you have options. AudioFetch Express is a single input unit to accommodate  a single audio source, or for multiple AudioFetch Express units to combine a few input audio sources to up to six channels on the AudioFetch App., we offer a single channel unit. For larger venues, the standard AudioFetch system can be expanded from 4 inputs all the way up to 64 inputs. Each AudioFetch chassis supports 16 inputs, and up to four AudioFetch boxes may be added to the network.Customers  can add 4-input cards in the field when expanding.

Additionally, you are able to label each channel so that users can quickly find “TV1,” “CNN,” “ESPN” or whatever makes sense for your venue.

Inputs & Outputs: It’s What it’s All About

When it comes to audio inputs, you also have options. Each AudioFetch unit allows for three different connectors–analog, optical and digital coax. This gives you the flexibility to install in whatever way works best for your business. It also eliminates the need for costly optical adaptor boxes. Less money, less equipment, less hassle.

Low, Low Latency

AudioFetch has one of the lowest latencies on the market. We wouldn’t claim lowest latencies, and neither should our competitors. That’s because each installation is different with unique circumstances–venue location, structure, your wifi network, surrounding networks, etc.–that could impact latency levels. Ours is low, and we’re more than happy to prove that at your venue. But don’t trust any company claiming lowest latency and be sure to read the fine print if they “guarantee” it.

Marketing So Simple Even Your Dog Could Do It

Regardless of their role–marketing, sales, admin, executive or owner–anyone at your organization can easily understand and manage the AudioFetch marketing portal for customizing the AudioFetch app. We provide some clear-cut instructions with your product, and that’s truly all you’ll need to get in there and create ads, view usage metrics, and download reports. App users tap your custom graphics and message then choose to be connected to either  a phone number, a website, or to send an e-mail.

AudioFetch Marketing Portal

The marketing for other wireless audio streaming products is so complex and cumbersome, they propose you pay them a monthly service fee just to manage it. That’s not a convenience fee, it’s because you’d never be able to use it on your own! We believe your resources, and your budget, can be used more wisely.

We Develop, Manufacture & Support Our Products

We don’t just sell AudioFetch products, we also continue product development of AudioFetch, develop each unit, manage manufacturing and assembly, and support each installation from our offices in Colorado. We do not private or white label any other companies’ technology or equipment. That means, we’re able to provide informed, effective and efficient support throughout the entire process, from installation to ongoing usage. There are no other companies, or board members to negotiate or appease and our design engineers and App developers are our own..

When you order an AudioFetch product, you work with AudioFetch exclusively. And when you work with AudioFetch, we work for you. Exclusively.

Custom-Designed Hardware

AudioFetch  is a custom-designed hardware platform to ensure the fastest, most efficient audio processing. We incorporate a microprocessor-per-input, so scaling multiple inputs is not an issue.

Other audio streaming systems use an off-the-shelf computer. These computers still need to run their normal operating systems in addition to the large software package required to process audio. These single processor units quickly become burdened, resulting in slower and less efficient audio streaming.

Barely Bigger Than a Tissue Box

Our flagship AudioFetch product is small, flexible and at 10”x6”x3”, it’s barely bigger than a tissue box. AudioFetch Lite is just 10”x3”x2” and FetchExpress, our single input, integrated-WiFi model is even more sleek. It’s about the size of a deck of cards (4.25”x2.5”x1”) and can easily be hooked on a belt or tucked into a pocket for hands-free usage.

Mounting Options

Due to the minimal size and weight of all AudioFetch units, AudioFetch can be installed virtually anywhere. However, for cleanliness and convenience, a lot of our customers like to tuck the unit out of the way. For these instances, we offer a single rack mount rail and all necessary hardware to flush-mount the unit within a standard 19 inch 4U rack space. If a unit requires rack-mounting, you should reconsider. This is a liability, not an asset.

Accessories ARE Included

Each AudioFetch unit comes with all necessary audio, ethernet and power cables at no additional cost. And this should always be the case, no matter what company or product you’re purchasing.

Simple, User-Friendly App

Our smartphone app was designed with simplicity and user experience in mind. We aren’t trying to recreate your website within our app with loads of links, information and distracting content. Our app has four main components–Main Menu, Available Channels, Volume Control and Advertisement space.

AudioFetch App Sections

The  simple interface makes the app intuitive for users of any age or tech-savviness. Once your customers download the app, they just need to open it and it will immediately locate the AudioFetch unit and connect. Your staff won’t have to spend their time explaining what it is, how it’s used or how to connect.

If you do want to provide an experience more akin to your website, you can always integrate AudioFetch into your own custom app through our API. Learn how this could benefit your business, and get instructions.

Monitor Usage & Performance

Through The Doghouse, our easy-to-use management portal, you can view usage metrics and download reports to learn how your customers are using AudioFetch to make improvements, and better understand your return on investment.

You can view reports such as Sessions Per Day, Listening Time, Session Length and Top 5 Channels. Access to these reports is provided at no additional charge.

Using Portable PA Systems for Auctions Blog Header

Using Portable PA Systems for Auctions

By | General, Auction | No Comments

Being heard is one of the most important parts of an auctioneer’s job. But the myriad locations where auctions take place can make that challenging. Uber quiet art galleries, elegant charity events, rowdy cattle yards, vast impound lots–these locations can be distracting for buyers or cause a distraction to other guests.

A portable PA system is an effective and cost-efficient way to ensure that bidders can hear your every word. Following are five other benefits that portable PA systems provide to auctioneers and audiences.

Save Your Money Maker

For auctioneers, your voice is your money maker. Hollering over the din of noisy crowds and background clatter puts a strain on your voice and, if done for long periods of time, can cause vocal fatigue and irrevocable damage. Using a wireless audio streaming systems allows you to speak at a normal volume and still have the audience hear you.

Broadcast Even in Remote Locations

Portable PA systems for local audio streaming create a wireless network. So even if you’re in a location with poor cellular service like a rural stockyard or a cavernous warehouse, your audience can use the integrated wifi to download and access the app for live streaming.

Help Hearing Impaired Audience

Even if the auction is taking place in a quiet location without any distractions or risks of distracting others, your audience may have hearing impairments that require some type of assistive listening device. And while many people have hearing aids, they may have forgotten them, don’t like to wear them or get annoying feedback in certain locations. With wireless audio streaming, all the listener needs is a smartphone or mobile device and headphones.

Minimal Setup and No Wires

Portable PA systems are small and lightweight. They can easily be strapped to a belt or slipped into a pocket for hand-free operation. Very little setup is required. Simply charge the equipment, connect to wifi and configure channels, and you’re ready to go!

If you’d like expand coverage or connect with other audio sources for larger venues or ongoing auction events, you can add a transmitter and receiver, but these are entirely optional.

Affordable with No Monthly Fees

Local audio streaming systems start at just $500 and do not require recurring monthly usage fees. And once you purchase the equipment, it’s yours to use as much as you like.

Ensuring that your audience can hear every word creates a more pleasurable auction experience and helps to increase bids. To learn more about how a wireless audio streaming system can help grow your auctions, contact us today.
