World Lutheran Deaf Outreach Ministry Provides Hearing Assistance with AudioFetch

By | AudioFetch News, Churches, Hearing Assistance | No Comments

We’re proud to work with businesses and organizations that help to bring communities together and raise awareness about hearing health around the world. We wanted to highlight a commendable organization that we’ve recently had the pleasure of working with to provide an assistive listening solution–World Lutheran Deaf Outreach Ministry.

Meet World Lutheran Deaf Outreach Ministry

World Lutheran Deaf Ministry Logo

World Lutheran Deaf Outreach Ministry (WLDO) seeks to connect with the 98% of deaf and hard of hearing individuals who do not attend church because of hearing concerns. Various factors–sentence structure, passive voice, inefficient hearing assistance devices–have historically made attending services a challenge, but WLDO is changing that! Through resources, training, worship, and small group study, WLDO is helping deaf and hard of hearing people come together where they previously couldn’t.

WLDO has deaf ministries in locations around the country, including Emmanuel Lutheran Church of the Deaf in Milwaukee, WI, Our Savior Deaf Lutheran Church in Madison, WI, Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Delavan, WI, Life in Christ Church in Peoria, AZ, Trinity Lutheran Church in Litchfield Park, AZ, Holy-Three-In-One Lutheran Deaf Church in Houston, TX, and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, MS.

How WLDO Discovered AudioFetch for Assistive Listening

We were introduced to WLDO through a customer that had previously purchased our home audio streaming solution, AudioFetch Home. “My hearing is significantly impaired (60% loss) and I really can’t understand TV programs,” says Galen Stanely, who purchased AudioFetch Home in November 2020. “With AudioFetch Home streaming to my Bluetooth hearing aids via my iPhone, the audio is crystal clear. I use it every day.”

After having such a positive experience with Home, Galen recommended AudioFetch to his pastor. “Our WLDO pastor ministers full time to hearing impaired and deaf people in our area and all across the US,” Galen added. “He uses the highly mobile AudioFetch Express for both worship and small group study while visiting many churches and congregations.”

The Most Affordable Assistive Listening Solution for Churches

Houses of worship around the world use AudioFetch Express as simple, affordable, and flexible assistive listening devices for churches, as well as to provide real-time translation services. AudioFetch eliminates the need for maintenance-intensive and unhygienic assistive listening devices or expensive and complex hearing loop systems. It’s simple to install and easy for listeners to use via the free AudioFetch app on their smartphone or tablet.

If you’re looking for an effective and cost-efficient way to provide accessibility for your hearing-impaired members, AudioFetch is the ideal solution! Contact us by calling 844-HI-FETCH or scheduling an appointment to discuss your house of worship application and free get a quote.

New AudioFetch App Features: Rapid ReFetch & New In-App Support

By | AudioFetch News | No Comments

We’re continually looking to improve the AudioFetch app to make it more useful for our customers and the AudioFetch App users. We are excited to announce two new features that help listeners to have a more efficient and seamless experience in those rare instances that something isn’t working properly: Rapid ReFetch and In-App Support.

Rapid ReFetch

AudioFetch Rapid ReFetch App Feature

Whether you’re using your own local WiFi network or AudioFetch Express’s built-in wireless network, you may on occasion experience a drop in WiFi signal. These things happen. Previously, the listener would have to close and relaunch the AudioFetch App.

With the new Rapid ReFetch feature, AudioFetch detects the loss of connection and provides a single button to ReFetch the audio stream. This feature takes the burden off the listener to take steps to reconnect.

In-App Support

AudioFetch In-App Support Feature

The second App update involves improved In-App Support to the user. Periodically, the AudioFetch app may run into an issue connecting besides wireless network issues. There are a variety of reasons this may happen, and in the rare case that it does, the listener is required to perform some action to get reconnected.

With the new improved In-App Support feature, AudioFetch detects the rare situation of a failed connection and gives the user feedback to fix the issue. The app automatically detects the issue and provides simple step-by-step instructions directly within the app for resolving it. Regardless of the listener’s technical ability or knowledge of smartphones, they can easily follow the simple instructions to resolve the issue on their own, without requiring additional support.

Both of these new features are now available in the latest Apple and Android AudioFetch apps. If you have any questions about these new features or other aspects of AudioFetch wireless audio streaming solutions, we’re here to help! Drop us a line, call us at 844-HI-FETCH, or schedule an appointment at your convenience.

And now, nearly two decades later, those locations can be found in 23 countries around the world!

New App Customizations: Branding and Personalizing Your AudioFetch App

By | AudioFetch News | No Comments

We’re continually looking for ways to improve the AudioFetch app and make it more useful for you and your customers. Today, we’re excited to announce a number of new customization features, which allow you to brand and personalize the app, making it more useful for your business and your guests.

AudioFetch App Customization

Following are the seven new customization features available now for your AudioFetch app:

Change the App Title

Specify an App Title, which will appear on the widget that displays when the device is on a lock-screen mode. This will remind your listeners that they’re connected and listening with your business, using a name they’re familiar with.

Add Your Logo

Replace the AudioFetch logo with your business’s logo in two spots: at the very top of the app, and in the center of the app screen. This helps you better connect with your guests by continuing to build brand recognition for your business, and making the app more familiar to your guests.

Add a Custom Background

You can now change the entire background of the app to display a custom image or customer color of your choosing. This feature is useful in further familiarizing guests with your brand and setting the right tone while they are at your facility.

Add Custom Channel Icons

Previously if your facility was using more than one audio source, the channels were simply displayed “Channel 1,” “Channel 2,” etc. Now you can customize those icons to better represent what is streaming on each audio channel, making it easier for guests to find what they want to listen to.

For example, if you’re streaming audio from TVs playing CNN, ESPN and Comedy Central, you can upload the respective logos for each channel.

Add Custom Splash Page

Display a custom banner or video before the app opens. Use this page to reinforce your brand message or promote events, deals or specials that are currently happening at your establishment.

Link to Your Website

To drive traffic to your business or organization’s website, you can now add a hyperlink under the hamburger menu dropdown, found in the top left corner of the app.

Link to a Custom PDF Document

Add a hyperlink to a PDF document under the hamburger menu dropdown, found in the top left corner of the app. You can use this PDF link in numerous ways:

  • Share important business information, such as event programs, fitness class schedules or menus.
  • Announce specials, discounts, upcoming events or other promotions.
  • Add a custom message or any other content that you’d like to share.

All of these customizations are available through The Doghouse configuration management portal, which every customer has access to at no additional cost or monthly fees!

If you have any questions about customizing the AudioFetch app or using it to engage with your customers, we’re happy to help! Drop us a line, chat with us, or call us at 1-844-443-3824.

*Note: App customizations are only available for AudioFetch Signature Series products and AudioFetch Express.

How to Host a Drive-In Wedding Ceremony

By | Weddings, AudioFetch News | No Comments

You’ve spent months, maybe even years, planning your big day. Booking the venue and all the vendors, picking out the perfect dress and decor, coordinating the ideal day so that as many loved ones can attend as possible, and making contingency plans for weather and other unforeseen events. Finally, all that planning–and the stress and anticipation that goes along with it–is about to pay off. Your wedding day is soon, and you get to celebrate your love with family and friends!

But there’s one unforeseen event that you didn’t plan for (because no one could have planned for it)–a global pandemic. The coronavirus has put all kinds of plans on hold, and forced people into two options: postpone the event to an unknown date in the future, or host the event virtually.

There’s a third option, however! One that will allow you to keep your wedding date and celebrate in person, but from a safe physical distance. You can have a drive-in wedding ceremony!

At a drive-in wedding, your guests can listen to the ceremony and your vows while sitting in their cars. All they need is a smartphone or tablet, and all you need is a wireless audio streaming solution.

Here’s how it works:

  • AudioFetch technology and a router are used to broadcast audio 300 feet in all directions
  • The couple and officiant (maintaining the required social distance from the officiant, of course!) use a microphone, which is plugged into the AudioFetch technology
  • Guests park in the parking lot or field and remain in their cars
  • Guests download the free AudioFetch app to their smartphones or tablets, launch the app and start listening
  • Their phone or tablet can be paired with any bluetooth speaker, making it easier for the entire vehicle to hear
  • Now they can hear the ceremony from a safe distance

We’re working with a number of couples and wedding planners to help them host these drive-in wedding ceremonies, and would love to help you out, too!

If you have questions about our technology or hosting a drive-in wedding, contact us today to discuss your event and which solution is right for you. We look forward to supporting couples and helping to give them the celebration they deserve this year!

How Your Business or Organization Can Host Drive-In Events

By | Business, AudioFetch News, Churches, General, Sports Bars, streaming | No Comments

Many of our church customers are hosting parking lot church services, allowing their members to continue coming together while maintaining a safe physical distance. These “drive-in” style services let their members maintain a sense of community and connection, without risking the health of themselves and their families. These socially-distant gatherings have been so popular over the past couple weeks, we wanted to share some ideas for other types of events and businesses that can benefit.

Drive-In Movies at Restaurants

Hosting a drive-in movie night is one way to drive business for restaurants that are only able to serve take-out at this time. The materials needed are minimal–a projector, a big screen (which could just be a white sheet!), and technology to broadcast the audio to cars. Customers get a break from being stuck in their houses all day, and restaurants get a boost in sales of take-out from the event.

Drive-In Graduations for Universities and High Schools

While daily classes have moved to the virtual world, there’s one final event on all seniors’ minds right now–graduation day. Rather than host this online or skip it altogether, universities and high schools could host the ceremony in the school parking lot. Grads and families can remain in their cars, and tune in to their radio to hear the commencement speech. Walking across the stage won’t be possible, of course, but the graduates can all honk when their names are called! Learn more about drive-in graduation ceremonies.

Drive-in Weddings

You’ve spent months, maybe even years, planning your big day, and the idea of postponing it is not only heartbreaking, it’s a logistical nightmare. You can still celebrate your love from a safe distance by hosting a drive-in wedding ceremony. Allow family and friends to listen to the vows while sitting in their cars (throwing birdseed in their cars is optional!). Learn more about drive-in wedding ceremonies.

Parking Lot Services at Funeral Homes

When a loved one passes, it’s important for everyone to have the opportunity to come together, celebrating and honoring their life. Those gatherings can still happen, just in a different way. Mourners can meet in the parking lot, seeing other family and friends and listening to the eulogy at a safe distance.

Drive-In Business Presentations

To maintain a semblance of community and connection for businesses forced to work from home, drive-in presentations may be a solution. A single speaker can present using a microphone, and employees can listen in via their smartphones or radio in their cars.

Drive-In Bingo at Retirement Communities

Those living in close-knit retirement communities are accustomed to attending potlucks, bingo nights, dances and numerous other activities planned on a daily basis. These neighborhoods can maintain a sense of connection without risking the health of their residents by hosting drive-in bingo nights. The caller can use a microphone to announce the numbers, while players remain safely in their cars.

Drive-In Dance Parties

Going out to a club is not permitted currently, but there are no restrictions on dancing in cars. Create a dance party in wheels by broadcasting music to attendees in their cars.

Drive-In Support Groups

If there was ever a time we could all use a little extra support, it’s now. But those people that rely on support groups for their personal health and wellness may not be getting the support they need. With drive-up support groups hosted in parking lots of churches or community centers, attendees can listen in for the encouragement, comfort, and relief they need to get them through this tough time.

Drive-In  Storytime for Kids

Every parent is looking for new and entertaining ways to keep their kids occupied. Libraries, theaters or other community centers can provide interesting and educational storytime for kids. One person can read a story, while families listen in from the safety and comfort of their vehicles.

Drive-In Lectures or Educational Events

Museums, libraries, theaters and other community-oriented organizations have been forced to shut their doors, but their parking lots are sitting empty. Hosting a lecture or educational event in these deserted lots provides some much-needed entertainment and a feeling of connection for the community.

How Can Any Business Offer These Drive-In Audio Events?

With our partner company Broadcastvision Entertainment, we’re able to broadcast audio from any audio source to smartphones.

Send Audio to Phones & Tablets for Drive-in Audio Services

Our drive-in audio solutions allow you to broadcast audio to smartphones or tablets. Listeners simply download and open the AudioFetch App from the app store, and then they can listen in real-time via their smartphone or any Bluetooth speaker.

We’re currently offering three different drive-in audio packages based on the total number of listeners–100, 150 or 250 listeners. All of these packages include AudioFetch equipment, a wireless router, and ethernet and power cables. And they’re all on sale! Click the button below to learn more about these packages and place your order.

We also offer an FM Transmitter, which broadcasts a message to people listening to the radio while sitting in their cars (up to 300 feet in any direction). This has been a very popular item for drive-in audio.

If you have questions about our technology or hosting a drive-in style event in your parking lot, contact us today to discuss your event and which solution is right for you. We look forward to supporting other small businesses and organizations, helping to keep communities connected, and giving new life to beloved drive-in theaters!

AudioFetch Blog Header - Parking Lot Church Services

How to Broadcast Your Church Service to Cars in Parking Lots

By | Churches, AudioFetch News | No Comments

Churches and houses of worship are making changes to how they deliver messages to congregations while practicing social distancing. Some churches are turning to online tools, virtual hangouts, and social media to spread the good word.

Other churches, however, have found an ingenious solution for still bringing their communities together in a single location, while maintaining a safe physical distance. The solution: They’re hosting parking lot services!

We’ve worked with thousands of churches since the start of this global pandemic to help them create parking lost services. And we want to help others bring this same “drive-in” style sermon to their members.

We are able to offer drive-in audio streaming through our products in two ways:

Using AudioFetch Express and FM Transmitter for Church Parking Lot Services

Option 1: Using an AudioFetch Solution to Broadcast to Smartphones

Our AudioFetch drive-in audio solutions allow you to broadcast audio to smartphones or tablets. Listeners simply download and open the AudioFetch App from the app store, and then they can listen in real-time via their smartphone or any Bluetooth speaker. Paired with a wireless router, our AudioFetch can support up to 250 listeners.

Here’s how the AudioFetch works:

  • Up to 250 listeners at one time
  • Have your members park in the parking lot and remain in their vehicles.
  • Send the audio over the WiFi from the router.
  • Plug the AudioFetch Express into your audio output.
  • The AudioFetch will broadcast your service to each member who has a smartphone or tablet.
  • The app is free on Google Play and iTunes.
  • They can now hear your message while keeping the proper distance.
  • BONUS: it can be used for hearing assistance and/or translation once service resumes indoors.
Listening to Church Services in Car with AudioFetch Express

Option 2: Using an FM Transmitter to Broadcast to the Radio

With the FM Transmitter offered by our partner company Broadcastvision Entertainment, churches can broadcast a message to people listening to the radio while sitting in their cars.

Here’s how the FM Transmitter works:

  • Broadcast your service 300+ feet in all directions. Unlimited users.
  • Have your members park in the parking lot and remain in their vehicles.
  • Select an FM frequency that is currently not in use.
  • Plug the FM Transmitter into your audio output.
  • The FM Transmitter will broadcast the sermon to each members’ car radio.
  • Your members only need to tune into the FM station you selected.
  • They can now hear your message while keeping the proper distance.
  • Place a sandwich board or other signage throughout the parking lot to direct listeners to the right station.

For further instruction on how to use the FM Transmitter, click the button below to download the manual.

Listening to Church Sermon with Car Radio

These parking lot services popped up in communities across the globe. In Odessa, Texas, Connection Community Church took their service to their parking lot. In Dora, Alabama, one church held services in the parking lot of a local restaurant. In Vancouver, Washington, parishioners sat in their cars to hear a “drive-in” style service.

Need help installing AudioFetch for your church drive-in services? Check out our short instructional video.

Would you like to provide instructions to your members or guests on how to download and use the AudioFetch app? We have a short video for that too! Check it out here.

We appreciate your business and hope our technology can continue to assist in delivering your message and bringing communities together in a safe way.
