Listening to TV at the Gym in 2019

By | Fitness Centers, Business, streaming | No Comments

According to Statista, the top two New Year’s Resolutions are to “get more exercise” and to “eat healthier.” Basically, these two resolutions work together to say that millions of people want to feel better, stay or get healthy, and take better care of themselves in the new year.

It’s easier to stick to a goal when you see others sharing it with you.  That’s why in January, gym membership and attendance spikes. All that stress of the holidays, all those calories from all that food, all that guilt from overeating – whoosh – gyms are suddenly inundated with potential new members who want to know what the club has to offer. One way to get an edge on the competition is to offer wireless audio streaming to help members listen to TV at the gym.

For those new to the gym, the treadmill or spin-bikes are the most attractive, and a half-hour a day on a treadmill or bike can do wonders for the disposition and the body. Not only that, it can be much easier to stick with a half hour routine when you have some entertainment to watch – a sporting event, a game show, motivational speaker, talk show. Of course, you have to be able to hear the program over the machines, talking, and grunting to enjoy it. A wireless audio solution that streams gym TV audio to smartphones could be the perfect way to allow your members to listen to the TV of their choice while working out, without disturbing those around them.

At AudioFetch, we’re helping businesses every day make their clients happier with wireless audio options. System installation is easy and compatible with any WiFi system, and the no-hassle phone app is simple to use and easily customizable to any customer base. Not only can you tailor the colors, banner, and title, but you can also promote new products, specials, and upcoming events.

3 Reasons to add AudioFetch to your College Campus

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

A college campus is a vibrant place of learning, ingenuity, and inventiveness.  The atmosphere is ripe with growth and learning, and the technology available on campus for various activities is a great opportunity to inspire students and faculty alike. An audio solution that transmits audio over wifi could be a great addition to any higher education audio-visual department and opens up some creative opportunities to enhance the experience of everyone on campus.

STUDENTS

Students work hard to become informed and expand their knowledge and skills.  They learn from books, professors, visiting lecturers, and each other. They attend multiple classes and spend long hours studying.  To unwind they sometimes look to the Student Union to share a meal, a televised sports event or an episode of South Park or Jeopardy.

One television, turned up loud enough for so many people to hear, can seem blaring to those who are more interested in talking to their friends.  For students who are studying while they eat, the noise of the television that rises and falls with the excitement of sports announcers’ voices or the music of commercials can be very distracting.  Or perhaps there are several televisions showing different programs and one can’t be heard over another, creating a cacophony of noise. And what if students with hearing disabilities just want to hear what’s on TV more clearly?

Any streaming device that transmits audio via wifi to a user’s smartphone, would be a perfect solution to manage noise levels in shared student spaces like the Student Union or dorms. Think of the peace in having an audio-streaming device that would allow students to listen to any TV through their cell phones.  Earbuds would prevent distracting anyone sitting nearby, and students could still watch together by tuning in to the same channel.

PROFESSORS

Seeking to vary the classes or impart direct knowledge, a professor might take a class of students to a museum, a play, a special lecture or a local engineering facility.  Communicating with students might be distracting to others at the museum, play, or lecture, and might be impossible in a plant, however, a personal PA system for teachers that streams audio directly to student smartphones would allow the professor to communicate with all the students over any other noise and without disturbing anyone nearby. Not only that, through direct streaming, students are more likely to hear every word of instruction through their earbuds and are less likely to be distracted or miss something vital because of ambient noise.

GUEST LECTURERS & PRESENTERS

Very often during the semester, a college will host a special visitor who might lecture on politics, environmental issues, the entertainment industry, or host a Q & A.  These special presentations are open to the public and many people from the community attend. Students attending the college or members of the community whose first language is not English are at a slight disadvantage because they might miss the nuances of the speaker.  Wouldn’t a translator be a big help? A translator could be a volunteer from the community who transmits the dialogue over streaming audio, allowing everyone to hear the lecture in their own language. Not only that, but attendees with hearing impairment could also benefit from an audio streaming device that amplifies the sound of the lecture directly into their ear buds.

CAMPUS TOURS

Walking prospective students throughout the campus, highlighting key educational and social facilities, is an excellent way to give them a feel for what life will be like and all the amenities that will be available to them. Oftentimes, campus tour guides have to shout to allow prospective students and their families to hear, or they rely on outdated and unhygienic shared devices to transmit audio. Our AudioFetch Express is better solution. Express is a wireless tour guide system, which allows attendees to listen from their own smartphones, and lets tour guides go hands-free. A useful and modern solution for any college, and one that allows for social distancing in today’s climate.

An AudioFetch education sound system that streams over wifi could solve so many on campus challenges and be a great addition to the student and community experience.  If you would like to know more about our audio streaming solutions, contact us today!

New Richmond Area Centre Installs AudioFetch

By | Fitness Centers, AudioFetch News, streaming | No Comments

We hold a very high standard for customer service. While our products are easy to install, sometimes our clients still need some extra support to help with unrelated issues like wifi troubleshooting – and we are there for them! Our install at the New Richmond Area Centre was no exception.  With the slogan, “Health, Fitness and Fun for all ages,” the New Richmond Area Centre offers a variety of programming options for kids, families, teens and adults. With over 6000 members, AudioFetch was the perfect audio streaming solution for this dynamic community Centre, bustling with activity and audio tastes.

We sat down with Kayla Bertram, Workplace Wellness Manager at the New Richmond Area Centre to talk about the Centre’s experience with AudioFetch:

AudioFetch: What is the best part about being able to stream audio through the Centre? How does it benefit your team and your members?

Kayla Bertram: Members no longer have to rely on having a CardioVision attached to their machine and hoping that it works. There was a lot of confusion in our facility over the fact that you had to be moving the machine for the CardioVision to turn on  – with AudioFetch we no longer have to worry about adjusting the antennas to get the channels to come in clearly – they are all crystal clear and available right on the user’s device. For my team this means no more messing with CardioVisions to get them to work for members, and for members it means they will be able to listen to the TV (and hear it clearly) no matter which machine they choose.

AF: What has been the reception with AudioFetch at the Centre?

KB: Mostly it’s nice for me because I have less people complaining about the old system not working, and more [members] who are perfectly content with AudioFetch and no longer complain about the old system. Once a [member] has downloaded and successfully used AudioFetch – they seem content.

AF: What was your experience working with AudioFetch and installing the system? Can you briefly explain the WiFi issues and how AudioFetch helped to resolve them?

KB: I’m not a super nerd when it comes to technology, but I’d like to consider myself at least somewhat technologically inclined. So for me, set up was super simple. Pretty much plug and go. We did have some issues in the beginning getting AudioFetch to connect to our wifi and having to reset the system every single day. It was definitely a process to get it figured out, however Albert and Tim were INCREDIBLY helpful. These guys stand behind this product 100% and will do anything to help you get the problem fixed. I honestly cannot thank them enough for helping me through the process and getting everything to work like it should. We do not have an IT person at our facility so it was challenging for me to figure this out alone and Tim and Albert were able to help me get it up and running.

AudioFetch has solutions that are right for many different businesses. If you’d like to learn more about how we could help improve your customer and team experience, contact us.

How Audio Streaming Works

By | streaming | No Comments

We’ve all been there. You’re out at your favorite restaurant and whether it’s the big game or some breaking news, you want to tune in and hear the experience. This can be difficult with all the noise in a busy establishment. Streaming local audio over wifi directly solves this issue by allowing your patrons to easily connect their personal devices to the source. Patrons have their choice of volume, channel, and can easily catch all the action at their choosing.

Note that AudioFetch provides 3 different audio connection issues to ensure your sources connect today and in the future.  Next, you connect the AudioFetch system to the wireless internet router via the Ethernet jack.

And Play: Once connected to both the source and the WiFi, the AudioFetch system automatically broadcasts audio from the source through the local WiFi network.

3 Reasons to Become a Football Host Bar

By | Sports Bars | No Comments

There’s nothing quite like sharing the joy of a touchdown surrounded by your fellow alumni or others with a passion for a particular school or team. Heading down to your regular bar to spend a few hours can be the perfect day for some people, and a huge boon in business for that regular bar. If you haven’t considered it before, recent advances in both technology and how viewers consume live events should serve as motivation to make your bar a favorite destination for college or NFL fans – especially with football season fast approaching.

Here are 3 irresistible reasons why now is the perfect time to become a football host bar:

1. Increase Business

Hosting college football games can attract more customers since friends usually come in groups. Each game aired can multiply your customer count as different teams each have different fans, so hosting games on a weekend afternoon can rival the amount of sales you’d get during an evening. For most fans of college football, having a gathering place to watch their team with other fans is something that simply can’t happen at home.

2. Potential Free Marketing

By becoming a host bar, you are taking advantage of the opportunity to increase your bar’s brand presence. With Instagram and Twitter now becoming part of the football viewing experience, it helps for your bar or restaurant to be tagged in photos that get seen by thousands of other users. It’s not just free advertising, it’s also smart business to build your location into social media mentions.

3. Build Community

If you want to set your bar apart from other local establishments, show interest in your local college sports teams by making viewers feel as if it rivals the stadium experience. People will not forget where they were during exciting or heartbreaking moments. By making your location feel like part of the community, you create equity from patrons that will keep them coming back at different points of the year beyond the football season.

Part of becoming a host bar is having the resources to do so. This isn’t just space, food, and a television – you also need a solution that let’s your patrons hear the game over the other noise in the room. Products that wirelessly stream TV audio can really give your bar a unique viewing experience by giving people the power to hear what they want just by using their phones or tablets. And the best part is, these products are quick and easy to install, and affordable.

If you’d like to learn more about how our bar TV app and wireless audio streaming products can help upgrade your bar, contact us today.

How Local Audio Streaming Saves Time and Increases Sales

How a Local Audio Streaming System Saves Time and Increases Sales

By | Sports Bars, Restaurants | No Comments

Local audio streaming systems are great for your customers–they can listen in to the game or TV program of their choosing and the sound is better because it’s not competing with other sources. They’re also great for your business, helping to make your staff more efficient and drive additional sales. Below are six ways that audio streaming over WiFi can save you time and increase sales for your restaurant or bar.

1. Staff Can Concentrate on Serving Customers, Not Messing with TVs

Imagine this scenario: Customer A asks you to turn the volume up on the Packers game playing on the TV in the corner. Customer B asks to hear the Broncos game on the TV above the bar. Customer C wants the Bills game louder. And Customer D says it’s all too loud and he can’t hear himself think, let alone hear his family talk.

Every time a customer asks to have the volume turned up or down, on or off, your staff have to take some action–go change the volume, find a manager or other staff member to change the volume or let the customer know that it can’t be changed. Alone, these exchanges don’t require a lot of time. But added up, it can be quite time consuming (not to mention, frustrating for your employees).

With a local audio streaming system, you allow each individual customer to control the volume of any TV, thus allowing your staff to concentrate on their most important job function–serving the customers.

2. Easy & Intuitive App Doesn’t Require Instructions

Using AudioFetch couldn’t be easier. Simply download and start listening! It’s simple and intuitive; customers quickly know how to use it the first time.

3. More Games, More Customers

When you air one game, you get fans from two teams. When you air two games, you get fans from four teams. When you air three games or more, well, you can do the math. Playing multiple games simultaneously means more potential customers. And more customers means more food and beverage sales.

4. Less Hardware & Software

Your typical commercial sound system requires several additional machines, software, cables and other accessories. To stream audio from muted TVs to smartphones, all you need is one small box (well, at least with AudioFetch, the same isn’t true of our competitors). It’s small and simple to install and integrate. Less equipment. Less fuss. Fewer headaches.

5. Better Experience Keeps ‘Em Coming Back

This one’s pretty obvious, but important enough to mention it–when your customers have a good experience at your establishment, they’re more likely to come back. But when they have a bad experience–can’t hear the game they came to catch, can’t chat with friends because the TV is too loud–it’s almost guaranteed they won’t be back and won’t tell anyone about your business (or at least won’t have nice things to say if they do). Provide a great experience by allowing them to hear better, and they have another reason to frequent your business.

6. Drive Sales with In-App Promotions

When you post announcements within the local audio streaming app, you can reach a captive audience–they’re sitting inside your restaurant, able to take action immediately! Add daily specials, promotions or happy hours to increase sales. Post notices about special events or occasions to drive awareness and attendance at a later date.

Saving time and driving sales are two real benefits of streaming audio over local wifi. Want to learn about more benefits? Contact us today.
