We started AudioFetch with one goal in mind–to help people hear better.

Having worked in the fitness industry for several years through our sister companies Broadcastvision Entertainment and Waio, Inc., we saw an opportunity to build a platform that would empower anyone with a smartphone to hear what they were watching in real-time, no matter the location.

And now, nearly two decades later, those locations can be found in 23 countries around the world!
In addition to the hundreds of businesses in the United States, we ship to and support businesses in Australia, Norway, Europe and the United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil, Italy, Singapore, France and many more! Check out the map below to see where AudioFetch is being used.

We’ve been honored to provide hearing assistance and audio entertainment options to all different types of businesses and organizations. Fitness centers, houses of worship, museums, farms, drive-in movie theaters, amusement parks, warehouses, hospitals, airports, universities and K-12 schools, sports bars, railroad tours, casinos and resorts, apartment complexes, country clubs, retirement communities, local news stations, film festivals–we could write three more paragraphs listing the various types of businesses and organizations that are leveraging AudioFetch! That’s because our wireless audio streaming technology is so flexible, efficient and affordable, and because every venue wants their guests to have a better experience.

If you’d like to know if AudioFetch supports your type of business or location, well, the answer is almost always YES! Contact us today or schedule an appointment to discuss your application.

Please note: While many of our customers are public venues, we also work with private businesses to provide services for their internal staff. If you’d like to test our AudioFetch technology in the wild, please be sure to check that the business is a public venue before visiting.

How to Listen to TV at Life Time Fitness with AudioFetch

By | Fitness Centers | No Comments

You’ve just finished all the Halloween candy, and now here comes Thanksgiving with that big turkey dinner and all those tempting desserts.  After that, you face the stress of getting ready for Christmas. What do you get for Aunt Edna and Uncle George?

There’s food everywhere this time of year.  Brownies on every reception desk, triple layer dip in the office kitchen, the office party, private parties and Christmas dinner. The holidays can be packed with calories and stress, but our client Life Time Fitness, knows that the number one way to relieve stress is exercise. It lowers stress hormones, improves your ability to sleep, and boosts your sense of competence.

Listening to music can be soothing and stress-relieving, and it lowers blood pressure. Watching your favorite sitcom or sports team on television can be a great way to pass the time on an elliptical or as a distraction between weight lifting sets (and watching sports is good for your health, too). Not only will you be entertained, but you can set your workout time limit by the length of the program.

Many national gyms have equipment with small TVs mounted on them – Stair Masters, ARC Trainer, spin bikes, treadmills, ellipticals – so members can watch TV when they use those machines. Eventually though, members move to the gym floor or a different machine, and then their only option is to read closed captioning, or listen to music on their own device with earbuds. What happens when they want to hear what’s on the television at the gym? Even if they could turn it up, they’d still have to deal with all the noise of everyone working out all around them.

When members of Life Time Fitness wanted to figure out how to watch TV at the gym, the gym decided to install AudioFetch, a gym audio streaming solution. AudioFetch allows members of Life Time Fitness to listen and watch the television program of their choice simply by tuning in via the AudioFetch app on their device.

AudioFetch is able to broadcast up to 512 inputs of wireless audio options and the no-hassle phone app is simple to use. AudioFetch transmits the audio over local WiFi, so every member of Life Time Fitness clubs offering this amenity can hear what they want wherever they are in the facility. And Life Time Fitness is able to customize the AudioFetch app to match their branding and include important promotions, ads and specials, further enhancing the gym members’ experience and driving more sales.

If you’d like to learn more about how AudioFetch can improve the experience of your gym or fitness center’s members, contact us today for more information.

Music Improves Exercise Endurance

By | Fitness Centers | No Comments

It’s easy to believe that music does its own part to help make a workout be more enjoyable. Most people, however, might be surprised that there is science to prove that music improves exercise endurance by stimulating physiological responses. That’s right, music is just as important to maximizing the potential of a workout as stretching and proper hydration.

Music As A Performance Enhancing Drug

That is exactly how Brunel University’s lead researcher, Costas Karageorghis, described music’s relationship to working out or competing. The studies performed on the psychology of music in exercise concluded that those who listened to tunes had higher levels of endurance, experienced less fatigue and enjoyed better metabolic efficiency. The combination of emotion inspired by song association, the cadence of the lyrics and rhythm of the music have a stunning effect upon the heart rate. Bikers pedal faster, runners pump their legs more powerfully, a stroll can quickly become a sprint. This happens due to what researchers call the “rhythm response”.

Rhythm Response

This effect of music upon exercisers was first noticed in 1911. Since then interested psychologists, inspired by this relationship, have performed various studies. It is clear to medical experts that it is instinctual for the human body to attempt to synchronize its own rhythms with that of the music it is hearing. If you want to get the most out of your workout keep in mind that songs that have about 120-140 beats per minute (BPM) will maximize the potential of a cardio workout.

Endurance Edge

To take your workout further, the Brunel studies suggest music can help to increase endurance levels by as much as 15%. Integrated into London’s half marathon, aptly named “Run To The Beat”, music was the primary feature of the race. Music along the route was selected to maximize the performance potential of the participants.
