Sports Bars Leveraging Audio Streaming Tech to Attract New Customers

By | Restaurants, Sports Bars | No Comments

The 2020-2021 Triple Whammy–COVID restrictions, supply chain issues, and labor shortages–have hit restaurants and sports bars harder than most industries. And while a recovery is happening slowly (total spending at quick- and full-service restaurants is up 7% compared to 2019, according to Rewards Network) these hospitality businesses are still challenged to drive sales and adhere to any lingering restrictions, both regulated by local governments and strongly encouraged by local customers.

To address these restrictions, create unique experiences that attract new customers, and help stand out from other local businesses, sports bars and restaurants are leveraging AudioFetch’s next-generation audio over WiFi technology.

AudioFetch provides an innovative and safe way for customers to listen to muted TVs in the bar. The sports bar sound system allows bar owners to broadcast audio from any and all muted TVs to their customers’ smartphones. Customers can then listen through the free AudioFetch app from anywhere in the bar or restaurant, on the patio, in the parking lot, or even the restroom (hey, some folks don’t want to miss a second of the game!).

Meeting regulations and creating a safer environment

Staying up-to-date on the constantly changing rules and regulations has certainly been a challenge. They can flip-flop seemingly overnight and restaurants have had to remain agile to ensure they adhere. Not to mention the wavering fears and comfort levels of customers, which can swing widely by the week and result in disruptions and lost revenue as businesses try to adapt.

AudioFetch has evolved with sports bars as they moved from outdoor-only seating and parking lot “tailgate parties” last spring and summer, to half capacity with at least six feet of space between tables over the winter, to full capacity with no-standing-at-the-bar rules over the past few months. The audio streaming technology allows customers to maintain the proper distance between people and tables without needing to blast the TV volume.

So no matter what the current regulations are, even when they finally get to that “normal” we all keep dreaming about, AudioFetch supports the needs of both the business and its customers.

Airing multiple games for diverse audiences

It’s rare for a sports bar to air the same game on all of their screens. Oftentimes it’s a few different games all taking place at the same time, and for the larger establishments, it might even be several different sports or events throughout the building. To appeal to the widest audience and create a welcoming environment for everyone, even the non-sports fans, all of the TVs must be muted.

Some sports bars provide tabletop speakers so separate tables can tune in to a single TV. This solution is okay when your building has the right acoustics and your customers are on the friendlier, more considerate side. Yet, even in these situations, it can become very loud with competing audio on a table-by-table basis.

AudioFetch provides a more accommodating solution. Each individual sports fan selects the game/TV they want to hear and listens through their own smartphone and headphones. So even if a single table is divided on which game/TV to watch, they have options to make the experience their own or flip around to different channels as desired.

Note: AudioFetch can also be used with tabletop speakers if that’s the preferred method for the business. Simply connect a single phone to the speaker via Bluetooth, use an attachable sound amplifier, or even place the phone in a glass or bowl to increase the volume for the entire table.

How to Hear The Game at a Crowded Bar This Football Season

By | Restaurants, Sports Bars | No Comments

Today is the first day of the NFL season, and we couldn’t be more excited! We’re looking forward to cheering on our favorite team (Go Broncos!) at some local sports bars (like Hogfish Seafood & Smokehouse in Loveland, CO!), and know many other fans are gearing up to do the same.

While things aren’t quite back to normal in most areas, we’re hearing from our hospitality customers across the United States and Canada that things are picking back up, and they expect packed houses during game days. If you’re a football fan that plans to hit up your local pub to catch the game, you might have some questions about how you can tune in to your team and have a better experience overall.

We’ve gathered answers to some of the most common questions we get about sports bar sound systems and using the AudioFetch app to hear muted TVs:

How do I listen to TV at a bar?

Bars that use AudioFetch allow you to listen to TVs through your personal smartphone or tablet. You download the free AudioFetch app, connect to the local WiFi, choose which TV you want to hear and start listening immediately. You can switch the channel to hear the game or program playing on another TV at any time.

Can I hear my TV through my phone?

AudioFetch allows you to hear TV through your phone using the free AudioFetch app. When used as a bar audio solution, AudioFetch can accommodate 16 audio inputs with a single unit, or up to 512 by using additional units. That means you choose to listen to one of 512 TVs with the swipe of a thumb (how many TVs does your local sports bar have?!).

How do I listen to a muted TV?

AudioFetch technology allows you to listen to muted TVs using only your smartphone and headphones. It doesn’t matter where you are in relation to the TV–right next to it, on the patio, even in the bathroom–as long as you’re connected to the local wireless network, you can listen via the free AudioFetch app.

How can I hear TV without disturbing others?

AudioFetch wireless audio streaming allows you to listen to the TV at any volume through headphones connected to your phone.

This means someone at a sports bar can hear commentary on the Lumberjack World Championships playing on a single TV tucked in the corner, while the rest of the bar watches football! It also works great in fitness centers, waiting rooms, airports and even your home–allowing anyone to hear TV without distracting others or getting distracted themselves.

Does AudioFetch work with streaming services?

Yes! AudioFetch allows listeners to hear any program that’s playing on any TV. Unlike Tunity, which only allows you to pick up audio from media broadcasts, AudioFetch can be used with Netflix, Hulu, AppleTV, Amazon Prime Video, or any other streaming service.

If you’re looking for a local spot to catch the game with AudioFetch, check out a map of our customers and look for the knife and spoon icon.

If your favorite spot doesn’t offer AudioFetch, let us know. We’ll reach out and see if we can work with them to bring AudioFetch to you.

And finally, if you’re a sports bar that would like to add AudioFetch for the busy football season, get a hold of us today. Shipping and installation is quick, and we can have you up and running well before Tom Brady secures the all-time yardage record! Give us a call 1-844-443-3824, drop us a line, or schedule an appointment.

How to Attract More Customers For Sports Viewing

By | Sports Bars, Restaurants | No Comments

After going months cooped up in their homes, unable to watch live sports, fans are thirsting for the opportunity to cheer on their favorite team with friends and family.

Following are four ways you can attract more customers to your sports bar or restaurant to view the game, and meet social distancing regulations:

1. Create Food & Drink Specials

One thing is still the same in this new normal–food and drink specials are one of the most successful ways to draw in new customers and bring regulars back time and again. Happy hour prices, 2 for 1s, sports-themed fare are all ways to entice customers to choose your bar over others.

To account for the reduced capacity and longer seating time during games, consider implementing check minimums during games. You may also want to adapt your menu to add in more appetizers and snacks, to keep customers ordering throughout the games.

2. Provide an Innovative Listening Experience

Provide an innovative and safe way for customers to listen to the game with our TV app for sports bars.

AudioFetch technology allows you to broadcast audio from muted TVs to your customers’ smartphones and tablets. Customers can hear the TV audio from anywhere in the bar, even on the patio or in the parking lot, which means you can maintain the proper distance between tables without needing to blast the TV volume.

3. Create VIP Experiences

To create a unique offering that stands out and secure ongoing business throughout the season, some sports bars like the Buffalo Wild Wings locations in Cleveland have opted to create VIP experiences.

For $750, Buffalo Wild Wings season ticket holders get a reserved spot in a special section called the Dawg Pound, along with a welcome package, and wings, fries, nachos, and drinks during each game. If you do the math, that nets out to just $50 a game for customers, and guaranteed revenue for the sports bar. Not such a bad deal for all!

4. Make Sure Customers Know About Your Unique Offerings

Whether you’re doing one or all of the things on this list, you need to make sure your regulars and potential customers know about it.

Use sidewalk sandwich boards to bring in passersby, send out emails to tell customers about your specials and unique listening and viewing options, post it on your website and social media channels, update ads on your local radio stations or news publications, and hang posters around your bar.

If you’re using AudioFetch, we provide a marketing kit to every customer with posters, table tents, and digital assets to help you get the word out.

It’s never been more important to bring people together and unite them, and we’re proud to help businesses do this in a more responsible way. Through the end of September, we’re offering 35% off all AudioFetch sports bar and tailgating applications and upgrades.

Celebrating the Start of Football Season

By | Sports Bars, Drive-in Audio, Restaurants, Stadiums | No Comments

The start of football season is always an exciting time of year. Not only does it mean action-packed viewing parties with loved ones, it also signifies the start of Fall and all the warm and cozy foods, clothing and environments we can look forward to.

While fans may not be able to pack into most stadiums to watch the action this year, they can still enjoy the camaraderie (and competition!) with friends and family at sports bars and outdoor tailgating events.

Our AudioFetch wireless audio streaming solutions are a great way to help fans hear the game while maintaining safe social distances in sports bars, restaurants, or even stadium parking lots!

Local Audio Over WiFi Solutions for Sports Bars & Restaurants

Our AudioFetch local wireless audio streaming technology allows you to broadcast the game audio from muted TVs to your customers’ smartphones and tablets. Customers can hear the game from anywhere in the bar or patio by using the free AudioFetch app. This allows you to keep tables spaced farther apart and discourages gathering around a single TV.

If you have multiple TVs airing different games or other programs on each, that’s no problem. AudioFetch can accommodate 16 audio inputs with a single unit, or up to 512 by using additional units! This allows you to attract more customers by offering several viewing options for fans (or something for those not-so-fans, who still want to go out with their friends!).

Drive-In Audio Solution for Tailgating Parties

Stadiums may be sitting empty during live games, but the parking lots don’t have to be. Hosting tailgating viewing parties in stadium parking lots provides a safe viewing option for eager fans, and could help to recover some of the losses from in-stadium ticket sales.

A big outdoor screen, our audio over WiFi streaming technology, and solid wireless internet is all you need to create this drive-in viewing experience. Fans can remain in their cars or truck beds, and listen to the game audio through their smartphone or tablet, or connected bluetooth speaker.

To celebrate the start of football this year, and help businesses and organizations serve their guests in a more responsible way, we’re offering 35% off all AudioFetch sports bar and tailgating applications!*

Use the discount code FOOTBALL2020 to purchase our portable FetchExpress online, or contact us to order AudioFetch Signature or any of our other sports bar audio solutions.

*35% off MSRP. Discount available from September 7, 2020 through September 30, 2020. Cannot be combined with other offers or discounts. One discount per customer.

8 Summer Listening Ideas for Businesses Using Wireless Audio Streaming

By | Business, Churches, Dining, Fitness Centers, Music, Restaurants, Sports Bars, Tour Guides, Travel | No Comments

Summer is finally here! And while it may not be the one you were anticipating for your business, there are still plenty of ways to help your customers and guests enjoy the sun and the company of friends and family, and grow your business.

Following are 8 ideas for providing summer listening entertainment for your customers:

1. Drive-In Movies

Drive-ins are making a come-back in a big way! Whether it’s your traditional drive-in movie theater with a gigantic stationary screen and set parking spaces or a mobile movie night in your parking lot or a nearby park, drive-ins are allowing the community to come together in a responsible way and allowing businesses to generate some revenue and some goodwill.

We’ve been working with all types of businesses to offer drive-in services over the past few months. Like Vanderwende Farm Creamery in Bridgeville, Delaware. Vanderwende is a family-owned and -operated dairy farm and creamery. They’ve started hosting drive-ins at their farm to create a fun and responsible event for the community, and to share their love of ice cream. We’re predicting movie + ice cream as the hot new trend this summer (or maybe just hoping!).

2. Bar & Restaurant Patios

Who wants to eat indoors in the summer anyway?! Patio beers are really what summer is all about!

Many bars and restaurants are beginning to reopen for dine-in services across the globe, and they’re getting creative with setting up outdoor spaces to promote safe social distances.

With our audio over wifi streaming technology, you can provide entertainment options to patrons seated on the patio or anywhere throughout the restaurant. Another option is to install personal viewing TV monitors at each table for easier and safer entertainment options for individual parties.

3. Outdoor Church Services

Churches were forced to adopt drive-in services over the past few months, but many are finding their members like being outdoors to enjoy the sun and warm weather. Even now that some services can resume indoors, it can be a fresh and fun option to continue hosting parking lot services or even a picnic service on a grassy expanse or nearby park.

Our FM Transmitter makes broadcasting church services painless to anyone in their cars with a radio handy. For a more tech-savvy solution, AudioFetch allows you to broadcast those same services to your members’ smartphones or tablets, and is also ideal for assistive listening and translation services whether indoors or out!

4. Music Festivals

Sadly, Lollapalooza and many other large music festivals have been cancelled this summer. Yet, some smaller and more localized festivals are still able to move forward. With a variety of safety precautions, of course.

A key safety precaution that music festivals can leverage is allowing attendees to stream the music through their smartphones. Attendees won’t have to squeeze in around the stage or even be in sight of the speakers to hear the music. They can maintain the appropriate distance from each other, and still get the music experience.

6. Zoos

With acres and acres of outdoors spaces, zoos can be a safer option for an entertaining and educational outing this summer. To further reduce the amount of contact that guests have with staff, wireless audio streaming technology can be employed.

Guests can listen in on their smartphones or tablets to hear from a zoo guide as they move through the facility together, or they can tune in at specific exhibits to learn more about the animal and plant life found in these areas.

7. Tour Groups

As tours begin to resume across various destinations and activities, it’s imperative that tour groups are provided with safety precautions to ensure they’re maintaining social distancing while still being able to enjoy the tour experience.

With a wireless tour guide system, all participants can maintain the appropriate six feet distance from each other and still hear every word the guide is saying.

8. Outdoor Fitness Classes

Most gyms and fitness centers are still closed, yet it’s still possible to offer classes in parks or other outdoors spaces. Using our FetchExpress portable audio streaming device, instructors can guide and motivate attendees while running drills up a hill, doing squats in a safely-spaced group, or quietly meditating under trees.

It won’t be the summer any of us expected, but it can still be a lot of fun! If you’d like to learn more about how you can create fun and safer events for your customers with wireless audio streaming, contact us today.

How to Provide Social Distance Entertainment Options As Restaurants Reopen

By | Restaurants, Sports Bars | No Comments

After weeks, and in some cases even months, of takeout- and delivery-only services, restaurants and bars across the country are beginning to reopen for dine-in services. As of today, 39 states have allowed restaurants to reopen for dine-in or are starting to make plans to reopen soon.

Each state has set their own guidelines for adhering to social-distancing measures and protecting staff and customers, and the guidelines are different for bars and restaurants.

For example, Texas restaurants and bars are permitted 25% capacity indoors with no limits for outdoor seating. In California, the decision to reopen restaurants is up to each county, and only bars that serve food will be allowed to reopen. And in our home state of Colorado, capacity at restaurants is limited to 50%, tables must be six feet apart and there is an eight-person party limit; bars remain closed for dine-in service.

Customers are of course eager for dining options that don’t originate in their own kitchens, but they’re also looking for the other things that restaurants and bars provide–the less tangible things like environment, community, connection and entertainment.

They want these additional perks, but not at the risk of their health or safety. Customers must know there are options for enjoying a social experience while maintaining responsible social distancing.

Our restaurant and sports bar entertainment solutions allow you to serve both of these needs for customers. We offer two key solutions for restaurants and bars:

Local Audio Over WiFi Streaming Solutions

AudioFetch Signature - AudioFetch Audio Over WiFi

Our AudioFetch local wireless audio streaming technology allows you to broadcast audio from muted TVs to your customers’ smartphones and tablets. No need to gather around a single TV to hear the audio, or even have tables grouped nearby.

Customers can hear the TV audio anywhere in the restaurant or patio seating by using the free AudioFetch app. This allows everyone to maintain the required distance from others, while enjoying the entertainment, the food and drinks, and the community experience.

Personal Viewing TV Monitors for Tables

Personal Viewing TV - AudioFetch Audio Over WiFi

We all remember this common scene at sports bars: groups of customers gathered around TV monitors, rooting on their favorite teams, high-fiving other customers, and clinking pint glasses. To protect staff and customers, this scene cannot happen anytime soon.

However, you can provide entertainment and some semblance of that same comradery by allowing customers to watch TV with personal viewing TV monitors at each table. Through our partner company Broadcastvision, we offer commercial-grade 19” HD widescreen LED TVs that can be placed on individual dining tables or mounted on the wall in a booth. Customers can select the channel of their choice, or you can choose certain programs to broadcast to all TVs throughout the bar or restaurant.

We know, we know, there are no sporting events to watch right now, but might we suggest airing Jelle’s Marble Runs! It’s all the thrill and excitement of traditional sports, without the risks to players or crowds.

If you’d like to learn more about how you can provide entertainment for your guests and maintain safer social-distancing practices, contact us today.

How to Create a More Family-Friendly Environment - AudioFetch Blog Header

Creating a More Family-Friendly Environment

By | Dining, Restaurants, Sports Bars | No Comments

Let’s face it. Sometimes public places and kids don’t mix. We’ve all been there. Maybe you’re the unsuspecting diner enjoying a peaceful night out, when suddenly you’re ambushed by a screaming child running up and down the aisle. Maybe, alas, you’re the parent of said lovable munchkin, cringing in embarrassment. Or maybe you’re the owner of the establishment, wondering what you can do to scale your atmosphere back to normal. Sometimes, it’s just one of those days.

But don’t worry. AudioFetch has you covered.

The great thing about AudioFetch is that it allows users to tune in to any of the televisions on the premise, so even if most of your base is cheering the game, you can still put a cartoon on a different set for the kids in the crowd. This can go a long way in helping to build a more family-friendly environment at your establishment.

This can come in useful in a variety of ways for your customers. Maybe their children are having a bad night, won’t settle down, and, normally, the family would have to leave. But with AudioFetch, they can catch the kids’ attention with their favorite cartoon, get them to stay in their seats, and dial the energy-level down a notch.

Or maybe the parents are hosting some friends and family from out-of-town and couldn’t get a babysitter. The adult conversation might bore the heck out of the kids, but put a movie on for them, and everyone at the table can have a good time, parents and kids included.

Whatever your customer’s situation might be, having AudioFetch in your arsenal offers a great solution for those with children. If you’re interested in all the ways AudioFetch can improve the experience for your clientele, just contact us and we’ll get your sports bar audio solution set up.
